أطول سجل لتسجيل منسوب النيل - عمر طوسون
قام الأمير عمر طوسون بتجميع بيانات قياس ارتفاع النيل منذ عام 622 م وحتى عام 1922م، و نُشرت تلك البيانات في عام 1925م، (تعد أطول فترة متصلة زمنياً في السجل هي الفترة ما بين عامي 622م و1284م)

Prominent Figures in Meteorology
محمود الفلكى
هو محمود باشا أحمد حمدى الفلكى وشهرته "محمود الفلكي"، مهندس رياضي من علماء مصر، ويعد واحدًا من أبرع علماء الفلك العرب في العصر الحديث، اتجه إلى دراسة علم الفلك عندما كان يقوم بأعمال الرصد في الرصد خانة.
أُرسل في بعثة إلى فرنسا في أكتوبر 1850م ضمن البعثة التي أرسلت لتعلم الفلك في مدينة باريس، واتخذ المرصد الفلكي بباريس مقراً له وزار المراصد والجامعات الكبيرة في المانيا وبلجيكا وبريطانيا وغيرها وتجول بين العواصم والمدن الأوروبية وأتم بحوث فلكية نشرتها له المجلات العلمية الأوروبية، وقد استطاع تحديد عمر الهرم الأكبر عن طريق علم الفلك والأرصاد الفلكية، ويعتبر أول مصري ينقب عن آثار مدينة الإسكندرية وقصورها ومتاحفها.
تقلَّد محمود باشا الفلكي مناصب ذات شأن، منها أنه ناب عن الحكومة المصرية في المجمع الجغرافي بباريس سنة ١٨٧٥م وفي البندقية سنة ١٨٨١م، وتقلد في مناصب الحكومة، فعين ناظرًا في نظارة المعارف العمومية.
Mahmud Al‑Falaki
He is Mahmoud Pasha Ahmed Hamdi Al-Falaki, his fame is "Mahmoud Al-Falaki", a mathematical engineer from among the Egyptian scientists, and he is considered one of the most prominent Arab astronomers in the modern era.
He was sent on a mission to France in October 1850, as part of the mission that was sent to learn astronomy in Paris. The astronomical observatory was taken in Paris as its headquarters, and he visited observatories and major universities in Germany, Belgium, Britain, and others. He toured between European capitals and cities and completed astronomical research published by European scientific journals. He was able to identify the Great Pyramid age through astronomy and astronomical observations and is considered the first Egyptian to excavate the ruins of the city of Alexandria, its palaces, and museums.
Mahmoud Pasha Al-Falaki held important positions, including being on behalf of the Egyptian government at the Geographical Council in Paris in 1875 AD and in Venice in 1881 AD, and held government positions, so he was appointed as an overseer in the Public Knowledge.

Prince Omar Toussoun
(September 1872 - January 1944(
Prince Omar Toussoun was one of the most important pioneers of reform and renaissance in Egypt in the early 20th century. He is the second son of Prince Toussoun bin Muhammad Said son of Muhammad Ali Pasha, founder of the Modern Egyptian State.
He started his studies in the palace and completed them in Switzerland. He took over the presidency of the Royal Agricultural Society, which was concerned with agricultural affairs in Egypt and worked on its renaissance, He was interested in agricultural research and was fond of excavating for antiquities.
He has many publications and contributions in Arabic and French in historical, geographical and archaeological research.
He was interested in the Nile, a prominent book of his is entitled "Mémoire sur l'histoire du Nil", in which he tackled the River's sources, course, branches, and flood. He also wrote “Mémoire Sur Les Anciennes Branches Du Nil (Époque Arabe)” and “History of the Nile” in French.

خبير دولي في مجال استخدام بيانات وصور الأقمار الصناعية في المنظمة العالمية للأرصاد الجوية، يعد أول من فسر ظاهرة تجمع السحب فوق المناطق الصحراوية وكان موضوع رسالة الدكتوراة الخاص به، خصوصا صحراء مصر الشرقية، كما أن أبحاثه في مجال مراقبة الفيضان تساعد على التنبؤ بالفيضان في مصر حتى الآن.
Dr. Hussein Zohdy
He is a former head of the Egyptian Meteorological Authority, Professor of Climate Nature at the Faculty of Science, Al-Azhar University, and former member of the World Meteorological Organization Executive Council. He graduated from the Faculty of Science at Ain Shams University in 1961, and then obtained a postgraduate diploma in meteorological sciences. He was appointed Director-General of Egyptian Meteorological Stations Department and then Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Meteorological Authority
He is an international expert in the field of using satellite data and images in the World Meteorological Organization. He was the first to explain the phenomenon of clouds gathering over desert areas especially the eastern desert of Egypt; it was the subject of his Ph.D. thesis. His research paper in the field of flood monitoring helps predict floods in Egypt until now.

جدارية تعبر عن اهتمام قدماء المصريين بالأرصاد
اهتم المصري القديم برصد جميع الظواهر والتغيرات المناخية والفلكية وحرص على تجسيد تلك الظواهر، كما عرف الاتجاهات الرئيسية وأطلق عليها أسماء محددة:
• اتجاه الشمال mht
• اتجاه الشرق iAbt
• اتجاه الجنوب rsy
• اتجاه الغرب imntt
ومن أهم الظواهر الجوية التي عرفها ودرسها المصري القديم "الرياح"، حيث قام بتقسيمها وفقاً لاتجاهاتها ووفقاً لقوتها.
وُذكرت الرياح في العديد من النصوص المصرية القديمة مثل نصوص الأهرام والتوابيت وكتب الموتى.
تجسيد الرياح الأربعة على جدران معبد "دير المدينة"، والتي تتميز بازدواج الأجنحة وذلك لتحريك الهواء كما تتميز بوجود ريشة النعام التي تعلو رؤوسها في دلاله على خفة الهواء.

عالم الطبيعة أ.د. محمد جمال الدين الفندى
أول من أنشأ قسمي الفلك والأرصاد الجوية في الجامعات المصرية وبعض الجامعات العربية، كان أول من اهتم بدراسة تلوث الهواء، ولعب دوراً مهما في نشر وتبسيط الثقافة العلمية، وله نحو 40 مؤلفاً، بين العلوم والدين والترجمة، وأكد في كثير من مؤلفاته أن الإسلام لا يتعارض مع العلم بل يحض عليه ويشجعه وظل الفندى طاقة خلاقة وعالماً معطاء وحركة دائبة حتى في شيخوخته وإلى آخر يوم في حياته إلى أن لقى ربه في 26 يونيو 1998
حصل على وسام الامبراطورية البريطانية في العلوم من الطبقة الممتازة عام 1946، وقام بإعادته لبريطانيا لمشاركتها في العدوان الثلاثي على مصر، حصل على جائزة الجمعية المصرية للعلوم الرياضية والطبيعية عام 1948، وجائزة الملك فاروق التشجيعية في العلوم الطبيعية 1950، ووسام العلوم والفنون من الطبقة الأولى 1983.
Naturalist Muhammad Jamal Al Din Al Fendi
He was the first to establish the departments of astronomy and meteorology in Egyptian universities and some Arab universities. He was the first to study air pollution and played an important role in disseminating and simplifying the culture of science. He wrote about 40 books in different genres: science, religion, and translation. He emphasized in many of his books that Islam did not contradict with science, but rather encourages its study. Al Fendi had been a generous scholar and a creative soul, even in his old age and until the last day of his life. He died on June 26, 1998.
He was awarded the British Empire Medal in Sciences of the Excellent Class in 1946 and returned it to Britain for its participation in the tripartite aggression against Egypt. He received the Egyptian Society for Mathematical and Natural Sciences Award in 1948, the King Farouk Incentive Award in Natural Sciences in 1950, and the Medal of Science and Arts of the first class in 1983.

Measuring Amount of Rainfall
Tilting Device - Castella device for Rain gauge

They are two devices to measure and record amounts of rainfall. They consist of a tank with a float that rises when rain falls. Then, the arm transports the movement to the recording edge using lifts to draw the amount of rainfall on the paper map installed on a cylinder. The cylinder moves via a spring by hour filled for a day.

نموذج لساعة مائية ترجع لعصر الملك "أمنحتب الثالث"-دولة حديثة وتعد هذه الساعة أقدم دليل مادي كان يستخدم لتحديد الوقت وكانت تستخدم في معبد آمون رع بالكرنك وتتكون من اثني عشر عمود منفصل مع علامات متباعدة في الداخل لقياس مرور الساعات عن طريق استخدام تدفق المياه، وقد أستُخدمت هذه الساعة لتحديد الوقت في المساء من قبل الكهنة.
A model of a water clock dating back to the era of King "Amenhotep III" – the New Kingdom. This clock is the oldest physical evidence used to determine time. It was used in the temple of Amun-Ra at Karnak. It consists of twelve separate columns with spaced marks inside to measure hours by using the flow of water. Priests used this clock to mark the time in the evening.
